WHAT TO DO IF CD/DVD SUDDENLY STOPPED OR NOT WORKED - APEX SYSTEMS

For Windows XP,
1. Go to the Start Menu and click on the Control Panel.
2. Double click on the System icon to open System Properties.
3. Go to the Hardware Tab and click Device Manager.

For Window Vista & window 7,
1. Go to the Start and click on the Control Panel.
2. Click on the System and Maintenance and click on System and check System Properties Window.
3. Click the Device Manager link in the left hand side panel.
4. Click the plus sign suffixed to the CD/DVD Drive.
5. Check the status of the installed CD/DVD drive.
6. If it is not present, then the issue is with the hardware parts.
7. If present, then it checks for any of the following two signs with the drive.

A. The red color cross sign means CD/DVD Drive is disabled. You have to right click on it and select Enable this device'. 
B. A yellow question mark means the drivers are stuck in the System Registry.
